Welcome to the Junction 2010 FAQ page.
1. Who should attend this conference?
Those working/volunteering in the arts: academics, artists, artistic directors, arts administrators, arts volunteers, arts workers, government employees, media, students and teachers or those who want to know how creatviity can influence and improve their sector.
2. How do I register for the conference?
Online registration is now closed. To register onsite visit the registration desk, staffed by Conference Design, in the Hotel Grand Chancellor. The registration desk will be open at the following times:
Thursday 26 August - 10am-4pm
Friday 27 and Saturday 28 August - 8am-7pm
Sunday 29 August - 8am-2pm

3. What do I do if an organisation will pay my registration?
A tax invoice will be generated when you complete your registration. That invoice can be forwarded to the appropriate organisation for payment. At the end of the day you, as the registrant will be responsible for ensuring payment is made.
4. How do I book my accommodation?
The Launceston Travel and Information Centre is ready to assist you in booking your accommodation, planning your trip and answering any questions you may have about Tasmania. Please call them on 1800 651 827 or visit their website www.visitlauncestontamar.com.au
5. How can I get to Tasmania?
Most major airlines fly into airports located in Launceston, Hobart and Devonport. Hobart is 200 kilometres from Launceston and travel time by car or bus is approximately two hours and ten minutes. Devonport is 100 kilometres from Launceston and travel time by car or bus is approximately one hour. Or if you would prefer to travel by ferry, the Spirit of Tasmania travels across Bass Strait year round, between Station Pier in Port Melbourne and Devonport on Tasmania's north west coast.
6. What is the temperature likely to be in August in Tasmania?
Based on previous years, the temperature is likely to be between 4 and 14 degrees Celsius. So, bring some warm clothes, scarves and comfortable shoes.
7. Should I bring an umbrella?
It could certainly rain in August in Tasmania.
8. What is the best way to get the latest conference news?

The Launceston Travel and Information Centre has pre-organised block bookings at many of the hotels located in the heart of Launceston. Please see accommodation under the conference sub heading.
11. Am I an RAA affiliate?
Regional Arts Australia affiliates include staff and members of Tasmanian Regional Arts, Queensland Arts Council, Country Arts SA, Regional Arts Victoria, Country Arts WA, Regional Arts NSW and Arts NT. If you are unsure of your RAA affiliate status or would like to find out if you can become a member, please check with your state regional arts agency. 12. Is the gala dinner 'Junction Function' an additonal charge and how do I book my ticket?
The Junction Function costs an additional $85 and can be booked through Conference Design when you register for the conference. This price includes a four course meal designed by celebrity chef Fiona Hoskin, a free drink on arrival and a degustation menu of dance. Don't miss this wonderful event which is sure to be a highlight of the conference!
