Angela Driver - General Manager

Angela graduated from the University of Tasmania with a bachelor of Performing Arts in 1999. Since then she has continually worked in the arts as an arts administrator, event manager, theatre director and community cultural developer. She worked for six years with Tasdance as the Administration Manager. She was the artistic coordinator for Streets Alive Youth Arts Festival in 2003 and returned in 2006 as the co-executive director with Kim Schneiders. In 2007 she completed a Churchill Fellowship researching performance events for social change and is currently taking part in the Tasmanian Leaders Program.

Ian Pidd - Artistic Director

Ian is a freelance director of theatre and events. For four years he was the Artistic Director of Back to Back Theatre with whom his productions included the Green Room nominated Minds Eye and a number of award winning short films. As Performance Director of Snuff Puppets Ian created large scale performances throughout Europe and in Japan, Singapore, Korea, China, Brazil and Indonesia. Ian has directed a number of large-scale CCD projects and has an ongoing interest in creating works that see professional artists collaborating across communities. Ian has a held leadership roles in festivals as diverse as Melbourne Fringe and Moomba. He is the founding Artistic Director of The Village, a new festival that has quickly established itself as a platform of choice for new work from artists old and new.

Rick Marton - Partnership Development Manager

Rick is a consultant to some of Australia's largest brands as an engagement specialist, creating innovative ways to connect and engage with an audience whilst meeting business objectives. As Director of Coyote Events, Tasmania's premier corporate event management company, Rick has built long term and successful relationships with clients across a range of industries including hospitality, automotive, retail, media, sport and telecommunications. Whilst he's a passionate Tasmanian, his travel for both business and pleasure has allowed him to experience a wealth of perspectives, one of the real benefits he brings to the role.

Shweta Dakin - Marketing Manager

Shweta Dakin is an arts and entertainment marketing professional with over eleven year's work experience in film, television and events in India, UAE and London. She believes in the power of the arts in its various forms as an effective communication tool and is a medium which excites her as a marketer.

Shweta relocated to Launceston from Mumbai, India in October 2008 to join her husband who has been born and brought up in Northern Tasmania. She has a Postgraduate degree in marketing from India and a Graduate certificate in Arts from University of Melbourne. Her diverse work experience has included working in organizations ranging from Film studios in Bollywood to television channels like MTV India and Channel V, brand marketing and event management companies.

“Working with the team at Tasmanian Regional Arts for the national conference is something I am really looking forward to. It will be my first arts project in Tasmania and is an excellent opportunity for me to learn more about this beautiful state and its art and culture.”

Joseph Pickett - Associate Director Festival Club

Joe is an emerging arts producer based in Northern Tasmania. With over 4 years experience in the Arts Industry and Event Management for organisations including Queensland Theatre Company, Tasdance, Regional Arts Australia, RedHot Arts and Manic Productions.Currently appointed as Festival Director of a small regional Environment and Arts Festival in Tasmania; The Jackeys Marsh Forest Festival. He has previously produced events as diverse as The Tasmanian Variety Freakshow, live visual arts performances, exhibitions, and hands on community projects. Joe was the founding coordiantor or Manic Productions, an Emerging Arts organisation in Launceston working to create opportunities for learning and collaboration between young artists in Launceston. Working previously as an Event Assistant on the last Regional Arts Conference - Art at the Heart in Alice Springs and most recently as the Production Coordinator of the Alice Desert Festival.

Megan Jolly - Program Manager

Megan completed an Associate Diploma in Drama and a Diploma of Teaching at the University of Tasmania before heading overseas. She spent time teaching drama in London and worked as an events manager in the United States for 12 years. She returned to Tasmania to complete her Bachelor of Contemporary Arts in Theatre at the University of Tasmania in 2009. She is currently working towards her Master of Contemporary Arts.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use my event management skills to help produce such an important conference in my home state. Tasmania is sure to inspire great conversations and great art."

Krista Horbatiuk

Krista has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and an Honours in Contemporary Music Studies from Macquarie University, Sydney. Since graduating from Concordia in 2000 she has been Special Events Co-ordinator for Opera Australia, Events Manager for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Programming Co-ordinator for Ashkenaz Festival in Toronto, Canada, and Event Manager for Event Emporium in Sydney. Krista moved to Victoria at the beginning of 2009 where she has worked as Production Manager for the Castlemaine State Festival and Big West Festival as well as freelancing as Manager for Speak Percussion. In January 2010 Krista made a permanent move to Castlemaine, Victoria where she is now Operations and Program Manager for the Castlemaine State Festival, Associate Producer with Punctum live arts as well as working on a short term contract as Production Manager for the forthcoming Regional Arts Australia National Conference and Festival in Launceston, Tasmania.
